It Was All Disappointed Today With the International Space Station

International Space Station
It is 7:40 PM as I start writing this post and my heart is heavy with disappointment.

I have just returned to the house from the outside where I had been curiously waiting to spot the International Space Station(ISS) at exactly 7:45 PM. After enjoying a rare view last time, I couldn’t wait to see the ISS the second time.

You Can Now Use Your Mobile Phone Number as A Postal Address in Kenya

Posta Kenya - Use Mobile Phone Number as Postal Address
The era of mobile post address in Kenya is here
With the advent of email, many people questioned the future of postal services in Kenya but it seems that Postal Corporation of Kenya has not only been able to hold its water but also capitalize on the emerging technology trends to propel itself forward.

The last bit of doubt got erased off my mind when postal corporation started partnering with emerging online shops like Jumia to deliver their customer’s purchases throughout Kenya and it seems that they are not done yet.

Rather Than Beat the Waves Flow Along With Them

waves
It is normal for us human beings to want to protect and cushion ourselves from enemies that invade our space.

From competitors wanting to snatch our love mates away to life risks that may bring us crippling down, nobody wants to leave their life to chance whenever they can. We fight back. We place protective mechanisms. We change faces. The list goes on and on.

I was talking to my friend – a Kenyan food blogger – the other day when she expressed her concern about people forwarding her recipes around. She was wondering if there was a way to stop people from forwarding her pdf documents once they read her recipes.

Developed by Mesmerize Games and available for download in Google Play Store (Android users), this simple game requires you to accumulate points by hanging on the chopper for as long as you can.

Ferdinand Waititu and Moses Kuria were earlier this week arrested and held in police custody alongside other politicians from CORD’s side of the political divide over hate speech remarks. It was only yesterday that they were released.

The exodus of it all is Njogu Wa Njoroge's thanksgiving ceremony organized to commemorate the Kameme FM’s 15 years career on radio.

Challenges I Faced When Setting Custom Domain for My Blogger Blog

challenges when setting custom domain for blogger blog
There is no doubt the URL example.blogspot.com looks less professional compared to www.example.com.

Google allows you to change from the former to the latter seamlessly by mapping your BlogSpot.com blog to a custom domain of your choice.

This is easy as copying a few lines of code from your blogger area to your preferred domain name registrar, the company that you used to register the domain name you intend to use for your blog.

For me, I always use Namecheap but a close friend of mine swears that she will go for GoDaddy any time.

Namecheap provides an easy to follow guideline on setting up and using a custom domain for your blogger/BlogSpot blog.

While setting up custom domain for my blog, I faced numerous challenges. In this article I will try to re-create and share them with you.

I Was Lucky To See the International Space Station

The International Space Station (ISS) is one of the world's marvels. Orbiting the earth at an incredible speed of 27,600 km/h, this huge artificial satellite is only outranked in brightness by the sun and the moon.

This coupled with its huge size and close vicinity to the earth makes viewing the International Space Station without a telescope - even at night - possible.

Lotto Kenya: A Pesky Game with Good Intentions

A long time ago – over six years ago I guess – I came across a banner ad saying that I was the lucky 10,000th visitor to a certain website. I was exhilarated. I clicked the banner without hesitation and before I knew it, the online ad had taken me to an online lottery.

After filling text field after field, looking forward to my big break, I eventually came to the payment page where I was to pay a certain amount of money to participate in the upcoming draw. I didn’t proceed any further because the ad had tricked me into believing that I had won, which apparently wasn’t the case.

6 People That I Can’t Imagine the TV Without

Watching TV is how most of us Kenyans wind up our day. From watching evening news to keeping up with soap operas and local programs such as The Real Househelps of Kawangware, Inspekta Mwala, Churchill Show, etc., most people and families simply can't imagine life without a TV.

Size, make, and model of the TV hardly matter; so long as you get a chance to stay up to date. When that means paying the neighbor a brief visit or sipping a cup of tea at the local cafe, most of us will not hesitate.

I used to be a movies person but I'm increasingly interested in local and international TV channels. This family thing :). As one would expect, I am also building a list of my favorite TV personalities and actors. These include:

Verdict is out: Kenyans Like Free Things

Dr. Kilemi Mwiria perhaps popularized the phrase “Kenyans like free things”. He was not particularly enthusiastic about releasing KCSE certificates to all students regardless of whether or not they had cleared their school fees following a Presidential decree to that effect in 2009.

Instead Dr. Mwiria wanted the decision to be based purely on real data from respective schools, expressing concern that some parents only refused to pay the school fees.
